A Talk on Non-duality - the Philosophy of Oneness and Wholeness
The perfection we seek is close at hand. It is not separate from our own consciousness and being.
But we need a means of focusing the mind on what is nearest.
Through inner stillness, we discover the source of satisfying knowledge that is the very nature of the self.
This talk will be given by the Warden of Shanti Sadan.
Registration is not required, but it will help us with organisation to know that you are thinking of coming. Thanks for letting us know!

The talk begins at 7pm and lasts about 50 minutes. No previous knowledge of non-duality or meditation is assumed, although it will include content that will be of interest to those who have studied non-duality (Advaita) before.
Admission free and everyone is welcome.
(Please note that the meetings would not be of interest to children.)
Non-duality (in Sanskrit, Advaita Vedanta) is a way of understanding the world and ourselves, closely connected with practical methods of gaining a deeper Self-knowledge and new sources of fulfilment.

How Can We Think About God?
God, Brahman, the Absolute or whatever name we use for the highest Reality, defies our attempts at thought and speech, and yet is the aim of all our endeavours.
How best to think or speak of this supreme principle? The non-dual teachings cast much light on this question.

Meditation – Less Thought, More Light
As long as our mind is brimful with worldly preoccupations, the inner secret of happiness does not reveal itself.
But when we turn within in meaningful quietude, we connect with the ultimate light of our being, and find the path to true freedom.
