Purpose and Services
The Purpose and Services of Shanti Sadan Centre of Nonduality (Advaita Vedanta)
Shanti Sadan provides teachings on the theory of nonduality, and the nondual practices, including meditation.
Nonduality (Advaita Vedanta in Sanskrit) is a rational philosophy about the nature of human beings and the world around us. It offers a solution to the meaning of life, and methods through which the purpose of life can be fulfilled.
Nonduality focuses on the nature of Self, and shows how meditation and related practices can lead to deeper self-understanding, and ultimately to the realisation of the highest human potential: direct knowledge of the identity of the individual with the universal.
Reflection on the Advaita teachings and nondual meditation lead to inner peace and freedom from anxiety.
The nondual principles conduce to cooperation and universal goodwill by resolving the roots of conflict.
And by showing how we can find fulfilment that does not depend on wealth or status, the nondual teachings point to a way of life that is truly sustainable, thus offering a solution to the most urgent of social problems.
Through meditation, we can discover the essential teachings on the meaning and purpose of life that are shared by all religious traditions.
You are invited to find out more about the theory of nonduality and the practical methods. There are guided meditations to follow.
